Dr Katrina Wruck

A proud Mabuigilaig and Goemulgal woman with ancestral roots in the saltwater people of Mabuiag Island in the Torres strait, Katrina is a postdoctoral (Indigenous) Research Fellow with a passion for finding innovative, green solutions for industrial problems.

Activities as an Ambassador in 2024

Trip 1: Tagai State College, Waiben (Thursday Island), April 2024

Career Yarns with Years 7-12 and visit to Mabuygiw Ngurpay Lag, Mabuiag Island (Prep-Year 6).

 

Trip 2: Kaziw Meta Boarding School, Waiben (Thursday Island), August 2024

National Science Week at Kaziw Meta and Tagai State College (Years 6-12), including produce garden unveiling, soil testing, science workshops, networking, and cultural dancing.

 

Trip 3: Tagai State College comes to QUT, July 2024
